1888.12.18 Little Team

W. O McCann has a pair of horses, designated as the “little team.” We saw them yesterday hauling some long pine timbers from the Occidental mill to be used on the schooner Guide, now undergoing repairs at P. Matthews’ ship yard. The timbers weighed a ton and the ease with which the “little team” hauled them through the muddy streets, was evidence that if the team is “little” it is at the same time powerful and hard to beat when it comes to a hard pull.

As found in the December 18th 1888 Humboldt Daily Standard.
